If I were to pick any one experience that has made my life worthwhile I would pick the one from last weekend -- three whirlwind days in London.
As past of Amra Kojon, a group of music-loving Bengalis in Boston who have a dream of taking Bangla music around the world, we have been to and participated in many shows over the past four years. But this was probably our first small step towards it.
Thanks to Bengali International, Drishtipat, AK member Sohini and many others in London, we were able to make a trip there and perform at a Bengali New Year concert in Walthamstow on May 6, against all odds.
Even two weeks ago we were unsure if this was a trip that would happen at all, given the expenses, visa mess-up and general unpreparedness.
Somehow things fell in place and it was a massive thrill flying to London 22 of us together on the same flight, living and eating together under one roof for three packed days.
I don't think there are words to capture the experience - from the hospitality of our Bengali friends in London to a standing ovation at the show.
But hey, don't take my word for it, I'm dead biased. We have many entries on our AK blog already in other voices - take a look.
